WALKING GROUP 2

A second Walking Group was set up in April 2009.   Like the first Group walks take place every two weeks, alternately on Mondays and Wednesdays, during the weeks when there is no walk for the first Group.

The dates below are those suggested for forthcoming walks.  The meeting place for the walks (unless otherwise indicated) is the same as used by the first Walking Group, the lay-by on Mobberley Road in Knutsford just before the watertower (Travis Perkins) at 9.30 a.m., or at the starting point.  Further details are circulated around two weeks before the date of the walk.

*These dates have been set aside for the SANDSTONE TRAIL walk of 34 miles which will be done in 6 stages.  It is open to Group 1 and Group 2.  RDH will lead the walks, with help, and will be responsible for coordinating travel arrangements.  More details nearer the time.  He does hope some members will do all the stages but please do join me for some part of the walk.

Tessa and Rod Howgate celebrated their Golden Wedding by leading Walking Group 2 on a delightful walk from Ashford in the Water to Monsal Head and back on 8th August - 50 years to the day of their wedding in Sheffield. Champagne was a fitting end to the walk and enjoyed by everyone.
